A Family Affair

The Good Ship Lollipop is the dream turned reality of Maddi, Glen, and their three young daughters. As a tight-knit, "mum and dad" business, we believe in the power of community and the joy of sharing simple pleasures. We know what it’s like to live in a small town where everyone knows your name—and that’s why we’re dedicated to bringing a smile to every face that walks through our door. It’s just like the good old days of the milk bar, where you can grab a treat, catch up with a friend, and create lasting memories.

How It All Began

Our journey started with a "pipedream" and a big decision. When the beloved ice cream shop in our town decided to move on, we couldn't bear the thought of our community losing that sweet connection. We reached out to see if the business was for sale—but instead of selling, the previous owners encouraged us to start our own ice cream and lolly shop. So, we did just that! In just four short weeks, we transformed a teeny tiny shop front into the vibrant, fun-filled space we proudly call The Good Ship Lollipop.

Meet Maddi & Glen

Both born and raised in Victoria, Maddi and Glen spent several years living in Cairns, where Glen worked as a paramedic and Maddi as a funeral director (yes, we know—it’s an unusual combo, but it always makes for interesting conversations!). The couple moved back to Victoria to be closer to family and took over The Greendale Pub in December 2020 (yes, right in the midst of the COVID pandemic). Not long after, The Good Ship Lollipop followed, as they wanted to bring a little extra sweetness to their community.

Today, they’re excited to share their passion for good food, community, and a whole lot of smiles with everyone who stops by.
